The song ‘Vuelve a Nacer’ was born out of a project of public action in a neighborhood in Bogota during the Peace voting process in Colombia this year and with the intention of bringing a positive message in this moments of big hopes for the country.

Oscar’s solo career began with original songs that were inspired by memories of his family and cultural traditions. This first collection encompasses a mixture of South American rhythm and roots with a unique sound by combining instruments such as Peruvian cajon, Mexican harp, bluesy slide guitars and even Didgeridoo as in one of his tracks “Alondra”.His musical journey has been full of cross-cultural adventures; experiences with indigenous communities in Australia, Colombia and Peru were deeply inspiring. Moreover in 2013 he was invited as one of the mentors for the Bush Band Business in Alice Springs – a program by Music NT that gathers music industry professionals in order to train aboriginal artist in improving their performance and musical skills.Certainly all these experiences have influenced Oscar in his latest compositions.
Songs like “Naturaleza” are dedicated to the aboriginal wisdom about man’s connection with the land. The artist is also passionate about the intersection that exists between music and people. In his latest visits to South America Oscar has been involved with organizations such as Yachaywawa in doing social work and benefit concerts for children and communities with educational needs.These concerts have also served for artistic encounters and collaborations with well-known local and international such as Cotito Medrano (Novalima – Peru), Dante “Choclito” Oliveros (La Sarita – Peru) and Alejandro Montaña (La Mojarra electrica – Colombia).In 2015 Oscar started his own world music production company called Vibrating Planet (vibratingplanet.com) to produce a variety of artists from diverse cultural backgrounds and creating new cross-cultural collaborations. Some of the artist are: Nhattyman, (nhattyman.com), Madre Monte (madremonte.com.au), Senegambian Jazz Band and more. Oscar also works closely with organizations such as Multicultural Arts Victoria, delivering cultural music workshops for the local community and also recording refugee artist based in Australia.
Oscar is currently working on a couple of very exciting original projects such as Amaru tribe’s debut EP (amarutribe.com) and a new solo album in collaboration with Colombian band La Phonoclorica.
